From time to time Santa Fe Veterans for Peace will make files available for download. These will usually be documents associated with Veterans for Peace public events such as "Rays of Hope in a Time of Darkness" which was presented at The Lensic - Santa Fe's Performing Arts Center on May 6, 2003. (These files will be found on the VFP Presentations page.) Others may include documents helpful in understanding the United States' current policy directions, such as a summary of the Project for a New American Century's "Rebuilding America's Defenses.

There is a significant possibility that the military draft will be reinstituted in the near future. There are strong arguments both in favor and opposing such a move. Identical bills in the Senate (S.89) and House of Representatives (HR 163) are the likely mechanisms for restoring the draft. The text of S.89 may be downloaded by clicking on the link to the right of this text. The document is in Microsoft Word format.

In July 2003, the Santa Fe Chapter of Veterans for Peace celebrates its first birthday, having grown in one year from 10 original members to over 120 veterans and associates. Given this degree of maturity, it seems appropriate to develop a somewhat more formal structure, including the adoption of by-laws. For the current draft now under discussion, download the Microsoft Word document to the right of this text.

Santa Fe Veterans for Peace Associate Member, Helen Corneli, has prepared a concise, 4-page summary of the Project for a New American Century's "Rebuilding America's Defenses."
